The Bank of China (BOC) is a Foreign-owned bank in Malaysia, owned by the Government of China and it is the most international and oldest bank in China.
The first branch of BOC in Malaysia was established on 1939 in Penang and other branches are located in Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, Seremban and Batu Pahat. Its Malaysia branches, however, ceased operations in March 1959 and with the rapid economic and trade development between Malaysia and China, together with the supports of the two Governments, Bank of China (Malaysia) Berhad (BOCM) officially re-commenced business on 23rd February 2001.
